Results - Explanation

	Organ confined cancer of the prostate (pT2)
Occasionally the cancer will extend to the edge of the specimen, which is known as a positive margin. This may just be a small or focal area at the apex of the prostate where the capsule of the prostate is absent. See Figure 2. Hence the cancer may appear at the margin but still be completely excised. A focal positive margin therefore may not lead to a recurrence of the cancer known as a PSA recurrence.
